Wolfburn Morven Lightly Peated Single Malt Whisky

Morven takes its name from the highest peak in Caithness, a mountain surrounded by open moors and wetlands from where peat had been cut for hundreds of years.
This lightly peated whisky is made from malted barley infused with smoke during the drying process. The flavour imparted by the smoke is a reflection of Wolfburn’s history – the original 19th Century distillery was largely fired by peat. Morven has been matured in a combination of Islay quarter casks and ex-bourbon casks.

Nose:    Initially smoky with hints of fruit and fresh sea air, accompanied by vanilla and oak wood shavings.

Taste:    Floral notes abound, followed by raisins and light spices. Malty flavours on the palate, with soft honey sweetness at the finish.

Finish:   Lingering finish with peat smoke.
