Springbank 5 Year Old 114 Proof Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky

Springbank 5 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky, historically been bottled for the Springbank Society members' club, and was typically a 100 Proof bottling.
This 5 Year Old new release was matured 100 percent in bourbon barrels and bottled at 114 Proof (57% ABV).

    Nose:    Notes of green apples, lemon peel, spices, a touch of salty wood, sea breeze, a hint of smoke.

    Taste:    Sweet, with citrus, creamy notes, sea salt and a touch of peat smoke.

    Finish:    Medium. Sweet, spicy, with a hint of sea salt.

Springbank distillery is located in Campbeltown, a picturesque Scottish town situated at the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula on the glorious west coast.
The first reference to Campbeltown whisky is recorded in writing in 1591. Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, becoming the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Today, Springbank is one of only three distilleries operating in the Campbeltown area and is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland.
