Lagavulin Jazz Festival 2017 Release Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky

Lagavulin has been a sponsor of Islay Jazz Festival since 2010 and produced its first commemorative bottling for the event in 2011. Released annually, this is the 2017 Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival expression. It was double matured in refill American oak hogsheads and refill European oak butts and bottled at cask strength.
Only 6000 bottles released.

    Nose:    Dry peat smoke, earthy and vegetal, lots of vanilla, lemon candy, charred wood.

    Taste:    Dry smoke and vegetal peat, salty, vanilla, lemon oil, black pepper and nutmeg, ashy.

    Finish:    Long: the vanilla still going, citrus, drying charred wood notes, mild sweet liquorice.
