Lagavulin 16 Years Old Islay Single Malt Whisky

2023 Award Winner - Double Gold at World Spirits Competition San Francisco

Lagavulin distillery sits on the water’s edge in a small sheltered bay on Islay’s south-eastern coast close to the ruins of Dunyveg Castle.
Lagavulin is said to be one of the oldest distilleries on Islay, with illicit distilling recorded on the site as early as 1742, the distillery dates from 1816, when John Johnson constructed Kildalton Distillery at Lagavulin. The following year Archibald Campbell built a second distillery named Lagavulin alongside Kildalton which Johnson also acquired in 1825. The two distilleries merged to become Lagavulin in 1837 under the ownership of the Graham brothers and James Logan Mackie.
Today it is world-renowned for its smoky, peaty whiskies.

Lagavulin 16 Year Old was first released in the early 1990s, and was originally intended to be a limited edition bottling. However, due to its popularity, Lagavulin 16 Year Old has become a permanent part of the Lagavulin range.
A much sought-after single malt Scotch whisky with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay - but also offering richness and a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting tipple. Lagavulin 16 year old has truly become a benchmark Islay dram from the Lagavulin distillery.
