The Glenlivet Groundbreaker Collection is a new, Limited Edition collection created exclusively for Travel Retail. Each chapter celebrates original artists who, through travel, have set new standards in their artistic craft.
For Chapter One, Glenlivet partnered with renowned artist Red Hong Yi, known as ‘The Artist Who Paints Without A Brush’, to design the Limited Edition packaging.
This Single Malt Scotch Whisky was matured in European and American oak, then a portion of the whisky was selectively finished in double-charred American oak and European red wine casks – a first for The Glenlivet.

Nose:    Fresh blueberries, juicy red apple, caramelised pears, glazed cherries, vanilla custard, orange peel, sweet oak char and crystalised ginger.

Taste:    Juicy plums, ripe banana, raspberry jam, charred pineapple, creamy butterscotch, warm gingerbread, caramel wafer and nutmeg spice.

Finish:    Warming spicy and slightly dry.

The remote and isolated Livet valley made it ideal for illicit distillation. This is where Glenlivet’s founder George Smith learned his craft. In 1824 Glenlivet became the first legal distillery in the area. By the late ‘30’s, Glenlivet distillery was producing more than 200 gallons a week. After a long battle for the Glenlivet name rights, in 1884 the distillery became ‘The Glenlivet’. To this day, Glenlivet continues George Smith’s vision to break traditions, set new standards and mode things forward, selecting exceptional unique casks, finishes and liquids to open up the world of Single Malt to all.
