Glenglassaugh 48 Year Old 1974 Serpentine Coastal Cask #1863

Part of The Serpentine Coastal Cask Collection from Glenglassaugh, this is the 48 Year Old release Cask Number 1863, an ultra-rare Highland Single Malt Whisky, matured for nearly five decades in a single cask.
The series is named after the special marble that can be found on the Scottish coast not far from Glenglassaugh and is known as "serpentine marble".
This Single Malt was distilled in 1974 and aged for 48 years in an Aleatico red wine barrique (a Chilean wine from Elba).
The whisky is presented in an elegant packaging, featuring a beautifully crafted wooden box. Hunter Luxury, experts in elegance and precision, have partnered with Brown-Forman and Glenglassaugh Distillery to create a unique wooden pack to launch a historic, highly limited whisky line: The Serpentine Coastal Cask Collection. This collection, born from Glenglassaugh’s reawakening after two decades of silence, pays tribute to the elemental beauty of its coastal home.
‘It is extremely rare to find casks which have been left to mature in coastal locations for such a long period of time and our warehouses, perched on cliffs overlooking Sandend Bay, have acted as the custodians of this old and rare liquid for over five decades. These casks give a unique insight into the nature of whisky making at the distillery before it was closed and capture a moment in time like few other expressions can.’ Rachel Barrie - Master Blender.
