Bruichladdich Rock'ndaal 03.1 Fèis Ìle 2024 Islay Single Malt Whisky Limited Edition is a true reflection of the distillery’s experimental cask exploration. It was matured for 10 years, first in bourbon casks, then in a specific combination of Sauternes casks, Austrian dessert wine casks and ex-brandy casks from Fernanado de Castilla, Spain, whisch previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry.
Only 3,000 bottles released.

Nose:    Crème brûlée immediately opens on the nose, with sharp lemon rind cutting through the creamy vanilla custard. Malt biscuit, toasted oak, hazelnut, and praline follow, balanced with hints of ripe pear, apricot, and honey.

Taste:    Marzipan and honey join a mix of dried fruit, with apricot, figs and dried mango bringing a hint of sweetness. A subtle minerality coats the palate, nodding to the single malt whisky’s all Islay maturation. This salty tang is balanced with a hint of nutmeg and peaches in syrup.

Finish:   Sweet floral notes come to the fore, with a gentle bouquet of primrose and Turkish delight followed by marzipan and Scottish tablet.

Bruichladdich was built in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, who owned the Dundashill and Yoker grain distilleries in Glasgow.
Unlike their neighbouring distilleries from the island of Islay, the Bruichladdich range is made without peat. Without the influence of smoke, they expose the brilliance of our raw ingredient – barley. Stepping further outside of whisky tradition, they have traced ingredients from origin to bottling, embracing every growing season, the subtlety of changing barley varietals and the methods applied in growing them.
