Balblair 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky

This Balblair Highland Single Malt Whisky aged 12 years is part of the newly launched core range from this old distillery. This expression was matured in ex-bourbon and ‘double-fired’ American oak casks.

Nose:    Elegant, bright lemon peel layered with creamy vanilla and crisp green apples.

Taste:    Ground spices and dried orange slices enveloped in intense set honey sweetness.

Finish:    Creamy and leathery with notes of sweet vanilla.

The Balblair Distillery was established in 1790 by local man, John Ross, on the estate of the Rosses of Balnagown. Sitting on a remote and unspoiled hillside overlooking the Dornoch Firth in the North of Scotland, Balblair prefers to focus on quality not quantity.
Balblair has a hands-on approach to making their whisky, never rushed, making sure their Single Malt has the most exceptional flavour and character. Balblair’s approach to whisky making is considered, with respect for the past, honoured by their craftspeople for over two centuries: a real testament to the pride and passion of everyone at Balblair.
The distillery released a new range of age-statement expressions in 2019. Each one has its own unique characteristics, but all of them exude Balblair’s True Highland Spirit.
