Star Hill Farm 2026 Release Cask Strength

Star Hill Farm 2026 Release - built upon soft red winter wheat — the signature grain of the Maker’s Mark mash bill — and layers in hard red and hard white wheat, revealing how diversity in the grain deepens flavour as it unfolds through distillation, maturation, and blending. Crafted under the guidance of Master Distiller Blake Layfield, this annual release celebrates nature’s role in whisky-making, focusing on wheat, wood, and water.
Star Hill Farm 2026 is crafted from two mash bills: one composed entirely of malted wheat, and another of 70% wheat and 30% malted barley. The final blend—27% wheat, 62% malted wheat and 11% malted barley.
The 2026 release was crafted from three different types of wheat and masterfully blended to create a complex but rounded whisky:

  • Soft Red Winter Wheat: Rich sweetness with cinnamon and fig notes.
  • Hard White Wheat: Silky texture with vibrant complexity.
  • Heirloom Hard Red: Fruity brightness with lingering spice.

“The 2026 release is a balanced blend of seven and eight-year whiskies bottled at cask strength, evolving from first sip to finish. It opens with aromas of molasses, fig and delicate baking spices, followed by notes of zesty citrus, ripe pear and buttery shortbread, and lingers with a soft cinnamon finish” said Dr. Blake Layfield, master distiller at Maker’s Mark
