Springbank 10 Year Old pre-2017 Single Malt Whisky

Springbank distillery is located in Campbeltown, a picturesque Scottish town situated at the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula on the glorious west coast.
The first reference to Campbeltown whisky is recorded in writing in 1591. Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, becoming the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown. Today, Springbank is one of only three distilleries operating in the Campbeltown area and is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland.

This is the classic 10 Year Old entry level expression from Springbank pre 2017.  

    Nose:   Crisp, fresh nose with ripe apples, lots of vanilla, a hint of leather and herbs.

    Taste:    Strong start, very spicy, lots of herbs, the previous freshness nose disappears. Slightly bitter.

    Finish:    Intense and long-lasting, traversed by strong oaky.
