Midleton Very Rare 2016 Edition Vintage Release Irish Whiskey

Part of the annual vintage release of Midleton Very Rare, since 1984, each Master Distiller of Midleton uses their eye for detail, their passion for quality whiskey and their exemplary skill to create the pinnacle of Irish whiskey, their special vintage release.
Midleton Very Rare 2016, released under the expert care of Master Distiller, Brian Nation, is a blend of whiskeys aged between 12 and 20 years, matured exclusively in bourbon casks. It is presented in a wooden box, with a certificate of authenticity.

    Nose:    Aromas of tropical fruits, candy floss, ginger, toasted oak, vanilla, fresh oranges and apples.

    Taste:    Honey, beeswax and floral notes to begin, followed by gently spicy notes of ground ginger, vanilla and oak.

    Finish:   Medium with spices and oak.

The distillery in the quaint town of Midleton, about 20km from Cork City, was founded by the Murphy Brothers in the early 19th century. The Old Midleton Distillery was in production for 150 years before a new adjacent distillery complex was built in 1975. The old distillery, restored to its former glory, guides thousands of visitors around the workings of Irish Whiskey making. The new distillery is one of the most modern distilleries in the world. This world class state of the art distillery creates five brands of Irish whiskey of which Midleton Very Rare is the pinnacle.
