Laphroaig The Cask Lore 2025 Release Single Malt Whisky

Part of the Cask Collection from Laphroaig, The Cask Lore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky five aged casks is the richest and most complex expression from the distillery. Lore expression draws from an archive of the rarest whiskies found in Laphroaig’s Atlantic storehouse, a blend of single malts aged from seven to 21 years in ex-bourbon, European oak and Oloroso sherry barrels along with quarter casks.

Nose:    Pungent peat smoke and seaside minerals with a hint of ash and chocolate.

Taste:    Lively with hints of bitter chocolate, ash and a spicy chilli bite.

Finish:   Short, dry finish with a lingering sweet aftertaste.

Sometimes referred to as the most richly flavoured of all Scotch whiskies, Laphroaig is one of the most iconic island distilleries. With its smoky and iodine flavours, Laphroaig embodies the Islay identity.
Although the exact etymology isn’t known, Laphroaig is said to mean “broad hollow by the bay” in Gaelic. This references its location, a small basin on Islay’s southern coast. However, it officially operated under the business name of D. Johnston & Co throughout most of its history after Donald and Alexander Johnston, who in 1815 founded their distillery on the island’s south coast.
