Limited Edition annual release from Kilchoman, Machir Bay Cask Strength 2025 Release.
Machir Bay is Kilchoman’s signature peated Single Malt. It was matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. Named after Islay’s most spectacular beach, the high proportion of bourbon barrels create a distinct balance of classic Islay character and fresh floral complexity.

    Nose:    Sweet aromas, light fruits, citrus and smoke.

    Taste:    Sweet, vanilla, honey, rich chocolate, smoked meat, caramel, spice, charred fruits and lemon.

    Finish:   Medium- long finish, slightly oily, with salt, spices and peat.

Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grass roots tradition of farm distilling. Their 100% Islay range represents the revival of those traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Kilchoman is a family run business, where the responsibility for quality and consistency is not outsourced but completed on-site with skill, care and attention to detail.
The parish of Kilchoman is home to some of Islay’s most fertile ground.  It is here, in the fields surrounding the distillery, where they grow an average of 200 tonnes of barley each year.
