Kilchoman 100% Islay 14th Edition Islay's Farm Single Malt

This is the 14th Edition in Kilchoman's 100% Islay series and it represents the revival of traditional farm distilling: growing their own barley before malting, distilling, maturing and bottling every bottle of their 100% Islay range on site.
It was distilled from Kilchoman's 2013 and 2014 barley harvests before matured in selected bourbon and oloroso sherry casks for a minimum of 9 years.

Nose:    Campfire smoke, preserved lemon, orange peel, tropical sweetness.

Taste:    Creamy caramelized sugars, vanilla, lemon, pineapple sweetness, fresh ginger, and oak smoke.

Finish:   Oily and textured with rich sherry notes and lasting peat smoke.

Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grass roots tradition of farm distilling. Their 100% Islay range represents the revival of those traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Kilchoman is a family run business, where the responsibility for quality and consistency is not outsourced but completed on-site with skill, care and attention to detail.
The parish of Kilchoman is home to some of Islay’s most fertile ground.  It is here, in the fields surrounding the distillery, where they grow an average of 200 tonnes of barley each year.
