Kilchoman 10 Year Old Loch Gorm 2025 Edition

Part of Loch Gorm annual sherry matured Limited Edition series from Kilchoman, this is the 10 Year Old 2025 release. Named after Islay’s largest freshwater loch neighbouring the distillery, the dark murky colour of the loch’s water is reflected in the rich coppery tones of their sherry matured Loch Gorm release.
Loch Gorm 2025 Edition was matured in oloroso sherry butts previously used by Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin, for a minimum of 10 years. The 23 casks selected by Kilchoman’s Founder, Anthony Wills, are a combination of 20 fresh and 3 refill casks from two different distillation years.

Nose:    Caramelised custard tart, freshly roasted coffee with notes of candied ginger.

Taste:    Honey roasted figs, cloves and sticky toffee pudding with suggestive smokiness evocative of barbecued bananas.

Finish:   Lingering finish with a savoury undertone held together by a smoky and earthy influence.

Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grass roots tradition of farm distilling. Their 100% Islay range represents the revival of those traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Kilchoman is a family run business, where the responsibility for quality and consistency is not outsourced but completed on-site with skill, care and attention to detail.
The parish of Kilchoman is home to some of Islay’s most fertile ground.  It is here, in the fields surrounding the distillery, where they grow an average of 200 tonnes of barley each year.
