Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment Single Malt Whisky

In the summer of 1886, with his seven sons and two daughters by his side, William Grant set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together they began building his Distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a single year of work, it was ready and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.
William’s passion, determination and pioneering spirit continues to guide us today. Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now the World's Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a true reflection of our founder’s innovative nature, passed down through the generations.

Glenfiddich announced that they would be 'pushing the boundaries of Scotch whisky’ by releasing a series of innovative whiskies as part of its new Experimental Series. The Orchard Experiment is the 5th release of the Series.
A tremendous addition to the Experimental Series from Glenfiddich, combining the influences of Scotland and Somerset! This single malt has been finished in casks that previously held Somerset Pomona Spirit (a blend of apple cider brandy and apple juice) from the Somerset Cider Brandy Co.

Nose:    Crisp green apple peels, a whiff of vanilla, and some tart, zesty notes of fermented fruit to balance sweet buttery toffee.

Taste:    Packed with fruit – a host of pressed apples and hints of pear are followed up by zestier notes of orange and lemon peel. Spiced apple cake and a whiff of nutmeg bring warming spice.

Finish:    The apple cider notes carry through to the finish, with pressed juices and red orchard fruits tangling with gentle oak spice and creamy barley.
