Glenfiddich 18 Year Old Excellence Rare Old Single Malt Whisky
Glenfiddich Excellence, a special 18 Year Old release to recognise the 18 direct descendants who have worked in the company since William Grant built the Glenfiddich Distillery over 100 years ago. Five generations later, the company is still owned and managed by the family.
Glenfiddich Excellence was made from a rare reserve of ancient malt whisky which is distinctively smooth and has a rich depth of flavour and aroma and has been aged in oak casks for at least 18 years.
Nose: Fruity, light, yellow fruits, apple, pear, peach, hint of lemon peel, hay, almonds, whiff of vanilla and toffee.
Taste: Toffee, almonds, yellow fruits, apple, peach, apricot, subtle sweetness, vanilla, spices, pepper, some oak wood.
Finish: Medium long, warm, fruity, little pepper, hint of oak wood.
Note: Product has come from a private collection, minor markings are inevitable and collectors should have reasonable expectations in this regard.
In the summer of 1886, with his seven sons and two daughters by his side, William Grant set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together they began building his Distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a single year of work, it was ready and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.
William’s passion, determination and pioneering spirit continues to guide us today. Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now the World's Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a true reflection of our founder’s innovative nature, passed down through the generations.
