Glenfiddich 18 Year Old Ancient Reserve pre-2007

In the summer of 1886, with his seven sons and two daughters by his side, William Grant set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together they began building his Distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a single year of work, it was ready and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.

William’s passion, determination and pioneering spirit continues to guide us today. Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now the World's Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a true reflection of our founder’s innovative nature, passed down through the generations.

Glenfiddich was an early advocate of the single malt Scotch category, and their faith is rewarded today by being one of the best-selling Scotch brands in the world.

There have been a number of iterations of the Glenfiddich 18 year old over the years, the Ancient Reserve was launched in 1998 and produced until 2008 when the distillery's core range was repackaged.

Aged in oak casks for over 18 years this Rare Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has acquired great mellowness and depth of flavour.

Nose:    Spicy oak, honey, subtle chocolate, vanilla, a little sherry and fruitiness.

Taste:    Spice, vanilla, milky mocha, some white fruits, pears.

Finish:    Medium length, here again sherry, sweet with vanilla and caramel transitioning to spicy oak notes.
