Fuji Single Blended Japanese Whisky

Fuji Single Blended Japanese Whisky is a whisky blend of malt, and grain whiskies made at Mt. Fuji Distillery. Unlike most other distillers in the world, Mt. Fuji Distillery undertakes all the production processes from mashing to bottling of both malt and grain whiskies on site.

Nose:    Gorgeous and delicately fruity aroma, reminiscent of peach, apricot and orange liqueur, with a hint of honey, oatmeal cookies.

Taste:    Smooth and mellow, silky texture, delicate yet vivid fruits, Williams pear, apple, apricot, white table grapes, fruits tart, elegantly sweet with white flower honey. Richness with moderate viscosity, harmoniously elegant, beautiful.

Finish:   Elegantly sweet, fruity, and rich aftertaste is interwoven with a pleasantly long silky finish.

Mt. Fuji Distillery was established by Kirin-Seagram Co., Ltd., the joint venture among Kirin Brewery Co., Ltd., Joseph E Seagram and Sons, Inc., and Chivas Brothers. From the start of its operations in 1973, not only the production equipment and technology of Scotch malt whisky were adopted, but those of American (Bourbon), Canadian, and Scotch grain whiskeys were also at Mt. Fuji Distillery. By integrating these with Kirin's brewing technology and expertise in meticulous crafting, they have refined their unique whisky making style.
Mt. Fuji Distillery is nestled at the foot of Mt. Fuji, 620 m above sea level and 12 km from its peak. Since this is a misty area, Mt. Fuji can only be seen about 1/3 of the year, despite being at such a close distance. The high humidity maintained by a year-round blanket of fog, a cool highland climate and air purified by the forests at the foot of the majestic mountain has been combining to form its climate and terroir around the distillery. This natural environment, the cool highland climate with moderate temperature changes and high humidity, is ideal for making whisky.
