Don Julio Ceniza Tequila Añejo Oscuro

Don Julio Ceniza Añejo Oscuro, an exclusive release "dark añejo" tequila with a sweet and smoky profile. Inspired by the legacy of Don Julio González and crafted in limited quantities, Ceniza ("ash") undergoes a specialized charcoal refinement and extended aging process.

    Nose:    Roasted agave, citrus, and a delicate touch of smoke and sweet caramel.

    Taste:    Silky smooth with layered notes of cacao, vanilla, and subtle charcoal and dried fruits.

    Finish:   Long and warming, leaving a lingering, sweet, and smoky dark vanilla.  

The legend begins in 1942, when a young Don Julio González sees a once in a lifetime opportunity in tequila production. He didn't own much, but what he did possess was a dream and the singular devotion needed to bring it to life. It was this unrelenting passion for excellence that inspired his creation of the world's first luxury tequila.
In 2006, Don Julio, with his family, planted their final agave field. In honor of his devotion and craftsmanship, this agave harvest was carefully distilled, barreled, and set aside for a special use. To preserve this tequila and the exquisite agave piñas behind it, they have implemented a Solera aging system.
