Bushmills 10 Year Old Amarone Casks Private Reserve

Part of the Private Reserve series from Bushmills, this is 10 Year Old Amarone Cask Finish, an outstanding Single Malt Irish Whiskey that balances fruit richness, spice nuance and oak influence.
The Bushmills Private Reserve Collection is a series of single malts with different cask finishes. This 10 Year Old Limited Release Single Malt Irish Whiskey was first matured in bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks for 4 years, before finishing for a minimum of 6 years in Amarone red wine casks from Valpolicella, Verona, Italy. It was distilled in February 2014 and re-casked in March 2018.

    Nose:    Rich dark fruits, cinnamon and warming vanilla.

    Taste:    Cherry, blackberry, damson and plum, with caramelized sugar.

    Finish:   Mellow rich ripe fruit leading into a long, dry finish. 

Bushmills distillery is located in Bushmills, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, owned by Proximo Spirits. Born in 1608, Bushmills is considered the oldest licenced distillery in the world. Along the north coast of Ireland, where arctic storms rage against the jagged cliffs, Bushmills is named for the mills that made the barley and the River Bush, which remains the water source to cut their whiskey to proof today. For over 400 years, Bushmills continues to distil malted barley and is the only Irish distillery still using malted barley in all its whiskeys.
