Bruichladdich Octomore 6.1 Scottish Barley Single Malt Whisky

A rich Scottish barley edition from the six series of Bruichladdich’s heavily peated Octomore.
Clocking in at 167 ppm before mashing, fermentation, and distillation, this had a lot of classic sweet peat reek notes. Octomore 6.1 peated to the highest ever peating level of 167 ppm  and aged for 5 years.

Nose:    Smoke, sea, and roasted nuts. Nutty notes of peanut butter and roasted chili almonds came through with time to breathe along with creamy Kahlúa and earthy notes of red dirt.

Taste:    Thick body with nice viscosity and a profile that shifted between sweet citrus, caramelized dessert, and charred wood.. Sweet citrus and cactus jellies occasionally poked out while on the back end notes of meaty bacon developed.

Finish:    Lingering tannic dryness with processed sugar and a faint char.

Please note: The Octomore range outer tins are extremely prone to dings and scratches. The tins often arrive into our warehouse suffering from minor damage in transit. This is out of our control. When we dispatch to our customers, we will re-pack to avoid further damage in transit but collectors should have reasonable expectations in this regard.
